The Kellin property is situated 50 kilometres southeast of Quesnel on the east side of Maud Lake. A branch of the Nyland Lake logging road traverses the southwest corner of the claim block making the property accessible by 4-wheel drive vehicle. A several kilometre long 'Cat' access trail was established in November, 1988, allowing 4-wheel drive from the "30 km" sign on the main road kept open by local logging operators.

The showing area occurs within Upper Triassic Nicola Group basalts near their western contact with Nicola Group argillites and greywackes. Diorite and monzonite intrusive rocks are also evident. Outcrop is scarce on the property and lithologies have been identified from trenching.

The Kellin showing is exposed by trench 89-25 and comprises fine to coarse grained, relatively fresh microdiorite with abundant sulphide fracture coatings and disseminations of pyrite, pyrrhotite, and chalcopyrite. The fractures are filled with carbonate and K-feldspar; chlorite and prehnite are also common. Chip samples from trench 89-25 analyzed 0.34 per cent copper and 2.3 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 18777).

In 1984, an airborne electromagnetic and magnetometer survey was carried out shortly after the area was staked. Between 1988-89, Brooks Resources Ltd. completed ground magnetometer and VLF-EM surveys (19 kilometres), rock and soil sampling, digging of 131 pits, trenching, and diamond drilling eleven holes totalling 758 metres.
